This compelling story involves murder, deception, greed but also offers the beauty of music and love, and the possibility of redemption. This is the fifth book in the Liam Taggart and Catherine Lockhart legal procedural series, but one is not out of the loop having not read the previous books.

This historical fiction goes back and forth between 2017 Pienza, Italy and the 1930s in Berlin and Bologna. In the present day. Tony Vincenzo in Chicago asks Liam and Catherine to travel to Tuscany to help his Aunt Gabi in Pienza who was being threatened with eviction. Catherine is an attorney and her husband Liam is a private investigator. Seventy-eight year old Gabi has been given 60 days to vacate the land said to be owned by VinCo, a billion-dollar corporation. Gabi tells the pair to read a memoir by Ada Baumgarten that will provide the answers to entitlement.

A fascinating story!
