"The World Water Crisis"

Across our planet, humans are confronting a series of existential water crises: from pollution and deteriorating water quality, to aging infrastructure for drinking water supplies and sanitation, disappearing fish stocks, droughts and floods, unpredictable water supplies for agriculture, rising urban populations, melting glaciers and climate change. In this talk, Nick Breyfogle will explore what we can learn from history as we confront the water challenges before us.

Nick is an Associate Professor of History at Ohio State, where he has taught since 1998. He is a specialist in two areas of history: 1) global environmental and water history and 2) the history of Russia/Soviet Union and Modern Europe.
