2018 Women's Tzedakah Collective

The Central Ohio Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) Tzedakah Collective bimonthly meeting will be held Sunday, June 24th, from 3-5 pm at Congregation Beth Tikvah, 6121 Olentangy River Rd. in Worthington.

The focus of the Tzedakah Collective this year is to learn about and support Central Ohio programs that restore human dignity.

The speakers will be:

Judge Jodi Thomas from the CATCH Court who will speak about how the Courts are addressing the issues surrounding the victims of human trafficking, prostitution and sexual exploitation. Changing Actions to Change Habits (CATCH) is a specialized docket of the Franklin County Municipal Court.

April Thacker from Freedom a la Cart. April is a Case Manager and Survivor and will speak from her unique perspective.  Freedom a la Cart is a non-profit group that combines support services and workforce training for local survivors of human trafficking. It is a box lunch and catering service. “Meals are more meaningful by deliciously combining fresh, flavorful cuisine with life changing employment and support to survivors of human trafficking.”

Susan Trianfo, Volunteer and Key Partners Manager will be available to address volunteer and mentoring opportunities at Freedom a la Cart.

The snacks will be catered by Freedom a la Cart!

Morissa Freiberg, Director of Education at Congregation Beth Tikvah will lead the relevant text study….

All Reform Jewish Women are invited to participate in the Tzedakah Collective. Each bimonthly meeting will have speakers from worthy nonprofit groups and in December members will vote on which group(s) will receive a grant. Each member contributes a tax deductible donation of $60.

Please contact Marsha Pond if you would like to participate. marshapond@msn.com
