Welcome to Temple Israel in Columbus, Ohio
Thank you for visiting the Temple Israel website. Our members and friends rely on our website for current information about the Temple and its programming.
Come and experience the warm and welcoming environment that is Temple Israel today. Some of our members are "transplants" to Ohio, and some are Ohio and Columbus natives whose roots go back to the Temple's founding 170 years ago; some are brand new to synagogue life and some have been deeply immersed in Jewish practice for many years. All call Temple Israel "home" because we all share a spiritual homecoming here.
You are invited to explore Judaism within the dynamic framework of Temple Israel -- where we seek to Create Community, Nurture Souls and Repair the World, one person at a time.
Our 450+ member Reform Congregation offers weekly Shabbat services, monthly Tot Shabbats, Preschool, Religious & Hebrew School as well as training for Bar/Bat Mitzvah, educational opportunities for adults and families, social and social action programming and activities, cultural events, conversion opportunities, active Sisterhood/Brotherhood and youth groups (3-4 grades, 5-6 grades, 7-8 grades, 9-12 grades) and more.
Temple Israel is a founding member of the Union for Reform Judaism and is led by a clergy team consisting of Rabbi Misha Zinkow, Cantor Bat-Ami Moses and Rabbi Sharon Mars. Our congregational educator is Beata Abraham. To receive a personal phone call from our Executive Director, Jennah Scher, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call (614) 866-0010 x 115.
